LETTER: Barsamian fills important, overlooked media niches

Editor,

I was intrigued by Michael Carrasco's comments on David Barsamian's point of view, a viewpoint labeled as "strikingly idiotic" by Mr. Carrasco.

In Mr. Carrasco's column, I found not one sentence that questioned the bombing of innocent civilians in Afghanistan.

I found not one sentence questioning our president's connection to the Carlisle (Oil) Group, which will benefit from control of Afghanistan.

I found not one sentence questioning George Bush's contingency plan to drop nuclear weapons on seven countries.

I found not one sentence questioning the presence of intense poverty and inequality in our own country.

David Barsamian, in contrast, is raising questions about these and other key issues. This is exactly what free press is about.

Thank God for media news sources such as David Barsamian.

Where are the other questioning media? Where are the other questioning reporters, columnists and commentators? Where are you, Mr. Carrasco?
