Anderson offers new certificate programs

UNM enrollment not required for management courses

The Management Development Center at UNM's Anderson Schools of Management is offering seven certificate programs in Albuquerque beginning Feb. 25.

The programs include coaching, financial investigations, quality management, basic accounting, human resource management, advanced management and basic management. They offer professionals the opportunity to develop and improve job-related skills in 12 weeks without having to be formally enrolled at the University.

The Coaching Certificate Program is for managers, supervisors, team leaders, human resource and organizational development professionals and people interested in learning coaching and advanced communication skills. Coaching is a system that promotes innovation, improves retention and development and facilitates communication and team effectiveness. In this course, participants receive three sessions with a trained business coach.

The Quality Management Certificate Program is designed for practitioners and those interested in quality principles. It provides a valuable framework for quality excellence and will help participants identify and assess organizational performance on a wide range of key business indicators.

The Basic Accounting Certificate Program is designed for non-financial managers who need to understand the fundamentals of accounting and finance. It will focus on helping people make sound business decisions by using relevant accounting information.

The Human Resource Management Certificate Program provides an overview of key areas in human resource management. It is designed for experienced human resources professionals, specialists who want to develop a general knowledge and managers new to the field. This course aims to help prepare participants for the Human Resource Certification Institute national certification.
