LETTER: Parmer's decision to quit Lobos an act of courage

I don't see how people can be saying it was Marlon Parmer's fault when he quit the team over verbal abuse. I played basketball at a school and quit because the coach was verbally abusive and that made my teammates turn physically abusive on the court.

I started hating basketball and I haven't picked a ball up in three years. What other choice did he have but to leave?

It was unhealthy for him to be there and I applaud him for leaving. It took real courage to stand up like that. After nine players leaving for the same thing shouldn't people start to wonder what's going on? I do.
