Editor,
Where's Al Gore? I've taken a lot of heat from liberal friends about my decision to vote for Ralph Nader rather than Al Gore in the last election.
If Gore had taken some courageous positions, I might have supported him despite my misgivings about his ability to lead. But now, a year later, as the Bush administration prepares to wage global war, impose greater secrecy, use military tribunals against civilians, build unneeded weapons including the unworkable missile shield, collude with Enron and Big Oil and devastate the environment, I have to ask: where's Al?
Where is the winner of the popular vote when we need a strong voice in opposition to these foolish and undemocratic actions? Given his silence, how can I possibly regret my vote for Nader?
