LETTER: Berthold's callousness is appalling, deserves protest

When UNM Professor Richard Berthold enthusiastically approved the slaughter of hundreds of innocent airline passengers to destroy the Pentagon he hates so much, he showed that he has even less humanity than the terrorists who committed this heinous act.

While stoutly defending freedom of speech even for such a despicable academic, I see legitimate means of protesting his appalling callousness.

If I were a college student again and attending UNM, I would not enroll ever in any of the professor's courses. If my major required me to attend any of his courses, I would change majors. And if I were irrevocably committed to such a major field of study, I would transfer to another university.
