Senior Amanda Carson of the swimming team and Chris Orrell of the men's track and field team are the New Mexico Daily Lobo Athletes of the Week.
Carson won three events to help the team defeat intra-state rival New Mexico State University in the last regular meet of the season. She won the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 58.54 seconds, the 200-meter butterfly with a time of two minutes, eight seconds and the 500-meter freestyle with a time of five minutes, 12.87 seconds.
Orrell, a sophomore, had an impressive performance at the Air Force Invitational, winning the unseeded mile and the 3,000-meter run Friday and finishing second in the 5,000-meter run Saturday. The performances helped the team finish in sixth place.
