The UNM women's basketball team ended a two-game losing streak Saturday afternoon, putting the defensive clamps down to defeat the University of Texas at San Antonio 55-38 on the road.
The Lobos' stingy defense held the Roadrunners to 25 percent shooting and only 15 points in the first half.
The victory puts the Lobos in the win column after losing its past two games, including falling to 17th-ranked University of Texas 71-58 on the road Thursday. The win improves UNM's record to 6-3.
The Lobos never trailed in the easy victory as junior center Jordan Adams led the team with 12 points, corralled seven rebounds and swatted away six shots.
Adams is only 10 points away from scoring 1,000 points for her career.
The Lobos also got some help from the bench, with sophomore forward Melissa Forest chipping in with nine points.

UNM held the Roadrunners scoreless for a seven-minute stretch in the first half, posting a 32-15 halftime advantage and cruising in the second half to the victory.
The Lobos shot 42 percent for the game.
UNM's next game is at home against Portland State University Saturday at 7 p.m.
