Sophomore forward Melissa Forest of the UNM women's basketball team and junior guard Marlon Parmer of the men's basketball team are the New Mexico Daily Lobo Athletes of the Week.
Parmer helped the Lobos win two games this week by scoring 37 points and pulling down 15 rebounds. He recorded a double-double with a game-high 22 points and 11 rebounds in the Lobos 66-64 victory against intrastate rival New Mexico State University Wednesday. He followed that up with 15 points and six assists Saturday in an 87-80 win against Tennessee Tech University.
Forest came off the bench to score 22 points. She scored a career-high 13 points on five-of-11 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds in the Lobos 71-58 loss to 17th-ranked University of Texas Thursday. She also contributed nine points in a 55-38 victory against UT-San Antonio Saturday.
