Editor,
As I read through the letters in the Nov. 15 edition of the Daily Lobo, I was very surprised to see that there were complaints about the cover photo in Wednesday's edition.
To those of you up in arms about the photo, get over it!
War is hell and is a reality that we may not want to face, but we have to.
The Daily Lobo's coverage is only to inform us and remind us of the importance of world events and just how lucky we are to live in the greatest nation in the world.
It is obvious that many of you out there who complained have never seen European-based news coverage such as the BBC.

Their coverage is very, very graphic and is a lot more informative and compelling than the sad excuse for national news coverage that is offered in this country.
I do understand that the photo stirs up a lot of emotion. That is what it is intended to do.
It clearly shows us how awful war is and demonstrates the reasons why we should all be concerned about those among us who are currently serving in the military around the world.
Some say the U.S. is helping a brutal cause.
Maybe . but, it was commonplace for the Taliban regime to publicly execute men for not having a long enough beard or women for not being appropriately dressed.
In a nation where dancing and singing were even capital offenses, I can understand the anger that the Northern Alliance must feel and took out on Taliban forces.
So, before complaining about what the Daily Lobo did by merely reporting the facts, put yourself in the shoes of the Afghan people.
Before passing judgment, be thankful that you live in a nation where these kinds of events are considered rare, because in most other countries they are fairly common.
To the Daily Lobo, I say good job in reporting the news, and keep it up.
I'm glad to see that there are some people on campus standing up for what is right.
God Bless America and her troops!
