Editor,
We, the members of the Connection slate, wish to apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused during the election on Nov. 14.
We wish to apologize to the Election Commission for any hardships that we may have caused you with the Daily Lobo issue. It was not our intention to cause you any stress or dismay on the day of the election, and indeed we tried to make election day as uneventful as possible and we also made a concerted effort to avoid conflicts or violations.
We wish to apologize to Iliana Lim¢n, Jim Fisher and the staff of the Daily Lobo. We regret any inconvenience we may have caused you on this day and there was no harm intended.
That being said, our reasons for our campaign strategies were only in the honest interest of voter turnout and not to maliciously harm any operation of the Daily Lobo.
We would not have placed our flyers into the Daily Lobo if we knew it would have caused a problem or that it was prohibited.

First of all, candidates have been campaigning through stuffing the Daily Lobo in the same manner we did for the past few years without any problems, so we did not believe it was against any law or regulation since there have previously been no objections or concerns raised by past Elections Commissions or the Daily Lobo.
Also, since the Daily Lobo is a free student publication, with student fees going to publication, and since we are all students, we do not see a problem with putting our flyers into the Daily Lobo.
There is no written documentation from or in the Daily Lobo saying this practice is illegal, nor is there any regulation in the ASUNM Lawbook or in the Student Activities Posting Regulations and Guidelines prohibiting said campaigning activity from taking place. If there were, we definitely would not have done so.
Again, per Ms. Lim¢n's editorial in the Daily Lobo on Thursday, we wish to apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused, but we still feel that we have done nothing to break any expenditure laws or any campaign regulations, and we ask the Elections Commission to please take this into account when mediating this situation.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
