Editor,
The time has come to mention something that the American people really do not want to hear.
Operation Infinite Justice has been a complete failure so far. Despite what the State Department says, continued air strikes are not going to get rid of Osama bin Laden or the Taliban.
Secretary Rumsfeld himself said that we may never catch bin Laden, not even with the might of the world's superpowers using every weapon in their arsenals to track him down.
OK, so what then is the point of this protracted act of terror against the Afghan people?
Certainly, there have been many civilian casualties, and again, despite official denials, we have targeted hospitals, neighborhoods and even Red Cross warehouses full of relief aid.

Now the State Department is expressing "surprise" at how tightly the Taliban is holding onto power.
What, did the State Department think these fanatics were going to lay down their weapons and surrender to the "Great Satan" just because we are bombing the shit out of their country?
It's not like we can bomb them back to the Stone Age. They already live there!
I guess the same incompetents who are responsible for allowing Sept. 11 to happen in the first place, despite repeated warnings, are in charge of this dangerous and yes, cowardly military action against the Afghan people.
Firing missiles from war ships and dropping bombs randomly isn't going to bring anyone to justice, infinite or otherwise.
This is not the time to rally behind our imbecile president. He is an imbecile, always was an imbecile and he always will be.
Why is Bush suddenly legitimate just because we are at war?
This is the time to question everything, including the actions and words, of our so-called leaders.
OK, OK, I realize all the patriotic mind-controlled robots will accuse me of being un-American because I don't support this criminal military action, but frankly, unless those people are signing up to go fight the Taliban themselves, they should shut up and do some research.
America is a great country because of its people, not because of its government.
It's my opinion. Come and get me, thought police!
