Editor,
I read Mr. Brian Ramirez's letter to the editor in the Oct. 23 Daily Lobo. I found it amusing, especially from a philosophy and political science major.
The paragraph I liked best was the penultimate one, "We create reality with our minds. We can achieve peace if we are collectively thinking `peace.'"
I can think of no better demonstration of this concept than if Mr. Ramirez were to round up as many like-minded colleagues as he could and find a 100-foot cliff. Standing at the edge, this group would collectively think, "We can fly!" Then, they would spread their "wings," jump and prove to the world conclusively the power of collective thinking to change reality.
Speaking of the Philosophy and Political Science Departments, I can recall no Daily Lobo letters from students in those departments that did not have a left-wing viewpoint.
Do conservative students even exist in those departments or is left-wing politics a requirement for admission there?
