Editor,
On Wednesday, in my political science class on civil wars, we discussed Tuesday's tragedy. Some students had the audacity to outright say it was the fault of the United States.
In my geography class that same day, some students made similar comments. I then read the Daily Lobo and read that a freshman wrote "USA = ignorance" on the banner commemorating the tragedy.
For those people, I only have to say this: If you hate the U.S. so much, what in the blue hell is stopping you from leaving and finding a country more to your liking? We have no walls between you and leaving America - just go.
As for those who say we should not respond in like fashion, these people have probably never even been in a fistfight with a schoolyard bully. Well, I have, and the only way to respond to bullies is with force. The only way to respond to would-be bullies is assertiveness, to make the would-be attacker realize that such an action would be costly.
The only way to deter further terrorist attacks against U.S. citizens is to locate who are specifically responsible for Tuesday's tragedy and assess the proper penalties for their cowardly actions. The United States does not need to massively bomb the entire Middle East or Afghanistan; rather, paramilitary warfare, as the Navy SEALs or special forces are trained to engage in, and should locate the specific locations of terrorist encampments and eliminate them.

Lastly, I must say the people that had the guile to blame the United States in my classes and in general are sad examples of human beings.
