Editor,
We mourn those who have suffered great and disastrous loss during the past few days. On Tuesday, our very way of life, the very freedom that we hold dear, came under attack. But, as Franklin Roosevelt said the day after Pearl Harbor was attacked, "No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory ."
This amazing tragedy has brought our nation together in a way that many of us never could have imagined. It is now time to cast aside our political and religious differences and support the leaders of our great nation. The actions that we, as a nation, take in the following months and years will be felt by generations to come. We must support these actions and remain united as a community in Albuquerque and as a country. Stand beside the President and leaders in our Congress in the actions they take to defend our liberty and our freedom.
We now stand together as one nation, indivisible, under God. I am as proud now as I have ever been to say that I am an American and that each of you are my brothers and sisters.
