Editor,
America needs to start fighting the war against terrorism domestically before focusing on nations abroad.
The recent tragic and horrendous events in New York and Washington, D.C. have brought to light some very serious concerns regarding past American foreign policy and its poignant implications today.
It is indeed troubling to note that Osama bin Laden and his network of terrorists were not the product of some Islamic-Jihad conspiracy, but rather the seed of our own CIA. During the Cold War, the CIA set up the camps and trained these poisonously anti-American groups known as Mujahadeen "freedom fighters" in Afghanistan to fight the Soviets without any foresight about future repercussions.
Today we bear the fruit of this CIA led training and frantically try to find ways to defend against their terrorism.
Before we allow the CIA to train the "anti-terrorists" of today, the bin Ladens of tomorrow, in this "War to fight terrorism," I think it prudent to take a long and hard look at ourselves: the supervisors of the drug running, trading guns for hostages, death squad training CIA. We must assess what responsibility we share in this tragedy and countless other tragedies.

If we are to have any hope of peace in the future, the United States needs to start fighting a war against terrorism. America needs to fight against the CIA, and the terrorism they create and sponsor before focusing on foreign governments abroad.
