Editor,
College should be an experience in your life unmatched by any other, at least up until now. We've all been taught that going on to college will help us get better jobs and gain an edge to be successful and learn new ways of life, and we hear about what it's like to be in college, but to experience it is something really wonderful.
College is a time of learning, not only about whatever it is that you may be studying, but also about yourself and new cultures, people, traditions and the list goes on and on.
While students can take plenty of different routes, I chose to "Go Greek" as many call it. Many of us college kids will go on to be stockbrokers, engineers, doctors, actors, lawyers, artists or musicians, and many of us enjoy different things, such as sports, music and writing.
Many of us come from different countries and different traditions, although we do share one similarity: Whether you are reading this letter at the Duck Pond, the shuttle or the restrooms in Zimmerman Library, you are more than likely a UNM student.
So, you ask, what am I trying to say? Well, it would have been impossible for me to find enough time to join all the clubs to learn the things I mentioned, so I joined a fraternity. Now I am surrounded by future stockbrokers, engineers, doctors, actors, lawyers, artists and musicians from different countries with different traditions, all of whom I call brother.
