Editor,
After reading Jeremy Reynald's latest rant, I had to laugh. According to Jeremy, most of the problems in our culture and society can be blamed on the liberal media.
He justifies his assertions using Afroman's hit single as a sign of the current decadence in America.
His solution, of course, is a religious conversion and strict adherence to the Christian tenants.
In case Jeremy hasn't noticed, the so-called liberal media is just a term of convenience for any media outlet that doesn't adhere to values of religious, conservative or moral zealots.
In fact, only a handful of outlets voice the concerns of everyday people.

Instead, we are inundated daily by the agenda of large corporations and those who bequeath power and wealth.
To blame the bad taste of artists or the media for society's woes is awfully naive.
To romanticize about a rose-colored society, where everyone faithfully abides by the dogmas of faith is ludicrous, if not dangerous.
A country like Afghanistan, where the adherence to religious tenants are strictly enforced, is not the kind of place where people, culture and ideas flourish or thrive.
Intolerance, Jeremy, is not a value that the people of this country should hold with high esteem.
