Editor,
Many readers of the Daily Lobo’s Opinion section expect sustenance, a reaction to the events around us. I think it is safe to say that I’m not the only one who is tired of seeing people attack the author of columns rather than the author’s presentation. This is not about defending a man, but dialogue.
Opinions are great; that is why I read the Opinion section. But we should not assume that it is Reynalds who is the (insert noun here), but those who attack him, or any other person, without rebutting any of the statements he makes. Reynalds, like others, provides sustenance. Some readers, rather than explaining why it tastes bad to them, choose to yell, “Don’t like it!” and huff off in a rage.
I understand the disagreement. But I don’t understand why we can’t all “get along” and discuss with a level of maturity why we don’t like the taste of some things instead of yelling at mommy to let us try something else.
I know the people that wrote those responses have rebuttals; those are what I want to see, not empty emotions.
