Editor,
I would like to know what the big debate is about Mary and her Bikini. I, for one, think it is a beautiful interpretation of one woman's view of the Virgin Mary.
The bottom line I would like to stress is that it is art, not a holy statue or relic or icon. I was raised Catholic and I can fully understand the concept of the divinity of Mary and how other Catholics may feel about it. If it was in a church or another religious place, then I would have a problem with showing a picture such as that in a religious setting. But it is being shown in the Museum of New Mexico, and therefore, it should be allowed to stay. I feel that if you don't like something, then don't look at it.
