Angie Wilcox, a junior majoring in secondary education, wants to better acclimate herself with student organizations she doesn't belong to and serve students on campus.
Wilcox is running for Senate to serve as an advocate for student groups.
"I am a hard worker, I genuinely care about the University and the people that attend it, which I think qualifies me to serve people as a senator," she said.
She said that she would like to represent students in the best possible way.
"I want the normal student walking to campus to go to class to know what ASUNM is," she said. "I would like to do this through use of an updated Web site and the establishment of a listserv. I would also like to represent the students in the best way possible."
She said the biggest challenge ASUNM will face this year is getting everyone to know what they do.
"No one really knows what ASUNM does and that's what we need to work on," Wilcox said.
When asked to name three members of the Board of Regents, the president of the University and three student groups, she named Toliver, Willard and Anaya as regents; William Gordon as president; and Golden Key Honor Society, Agora Crisis Center and the Residence Hall Association as student groups.
