Editor,
Why does that wing-nut Jeremy Reynalds have a column in the Daily Lobo? Isn't the Daily Lobo for UNM students, faculty and staff? I've looked hard, and I can't seem to find his name listed as a student, faculty or staff member.
I think that UNM would be better served if the space were given to someone who has even the vaguest connection to UNM, Mr. Reynalds' cracker-assed, frightening and homophobic religious views aside. I'm sure you could find Mr. Reynalds' analog somewhere in the University if you insist on giving your forum to only those of extreme and highly biased views.
Otherwise, I'm afraid it looks like you keep Mr. Reynalds around just to rabble-rouse, create drama and generate letters to the editor. Isn't that pretty much yellow journalism? Does William Randolph Hearst's estate give money to the Lobo?

Editor's note: Jeremy Reynalds is a UNM alumnus. That said, the Daily Lobo is an independent school newspaper, and the Opinion section is an open forum for all people, not just students, faculty and staff.
