Lobo columnists need to practice what they preach

Editor,

I couldn't help but notice the hypocrisy spewing forth from two Daily Lobo columnists.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like those who preach loudest about morals, ethics and how we could make the world a better place - if we would only follow their advice - are the same people who clearly never practice what they preach.

The first columnist, Jeremy Reynalds, feels indignant enough about Enimen's gay-bashing and misogynist lyrics that he writes a column about the evils of his music and the music industry itself. Is this the same Reynalds who, through the years, has consistently warned us about the evils of homosexuality and that a woman's place is in the home? It's ironic that a man who claims to be a man of God has such a difficult time accepting and tolerating others who don't share his same beliefs regarding religion, race, sex, politics and just about anything else.

It certainly takes a lot of courage to bash someone such as Bill Clinton for his inappropriate acts while in office and then lecture us about the importance of living a moral and just life. Brad Lord-Leutwyler's latest column has a headline that says "Actions Speak Louder than Words." I guess Brad forgot about the greedy manipulation he employed to pay for his second or third college degree at UNM. If Lord-Leutwyler really wants to do the right thing, he should return the lottery money he was rewarded so that someone who really needs or deserves it can attend our university.
